Even though you may have been driving in another country for many years, in Ontario , without a Ministry certificate, your insurance rate will be as high as a new driver. Individuals with more than one year driving experience in another country may attempt the Road Test and acquire their license before completing the course - to become quickly mobile . Once all course requirements are completed a Ministry certificate will be issued.
We recommend an In Car Package if,
1) You have sufficient driving experience, want to get your license as quick as possible and are not too concerned about insurance costs.
Or
2) You have a G2 license and would like to prepare for the G (highway) Road Test.
Or
3) You have been learning at another driving school - but would like to take a few more lessons to improve your driving and prepare for the G2 or G Road Test.

What are all these "Gs" about? The simplest explanation.
The process of acquiring a license in Ontario is dived into three stages: G1; G2 and G.
You must pass a knowledge (written) test to acquire a G1 license or learner's permit. As a G1 licensed driver you must follow specific conditions, such as, always driving with an accompanied driver who holds a G license. If you have more than one year driving experience in another country (and a valid foreign drivers license that proves it) - you do not have to wait the mandatory 12 months - to apply for the G2 Road Test.
To obtain a G2 license you must successfully pass a City Road Test (refereed to as G2 Road Test). Applicant will be tested in city and residential areas along with specific maneuvers: parallel parking; 3-pt-turn; front or back parking; hill parking. Applicants must drive safely, have good observation skills and demonstrate a clear understating of the rules and right-of-way. If successful, you will be issued at G2 license; with this license you may drive anywhere and at anytime (including the highway) by yourself.
Before your G2 license expires you must acquire a G license . To obtain a G license, you must successfully pass the Highway Road Test (referred to as G Road Test). This test is more challenging and the expectations are higher considering applicants have sufficient driving experience in the city and on highways. It is strongly recommend G2 drivers not wait until their license is about to expire to attempt this test and take some highway driving lessons to prepare.
